Synopsis by Mark Deming

In the early 1960's, Jascha Heifetz was firmly established as one of the preeminent violinists in the world of classical music, and he took the opportunity to share his knowledge with budding artists by teaching a series of master classes at the University of Southern California. The classes were filmed for posterity, and The Heifetz Master Classes, Part 2 features the great man drilling his students on form, style and technique, offering a rare perspective on his abilities and his personal style. This video release also offers a never-before-seen outtake in which Heifetz performs a humorous impersonation of a less-than-talented student at his first audition.
