In each episode, Smith demonstrates several simple but important recipes. This episode uses chocolate in lots of interesting ways, with recipes like Cocoa Black Bean Soup, Cocoa Rye Bread, Green Chile Brownies, and Chocolate Poultry Sauce. There are also recipes for Chocolate Drink and Mexican Chocolate Drink. Smith not only cooks, but discusses the theological and anthropological histories of the dishes he prepares.
