Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Young New Yorker Nathaniel Dunham (the not-so-young Earle Williams) is a total failure when it comes to business. However, his pal Harry Kellogg (Charles Trowbridge) is a Wall Street success, and he suggests that maybe Dunham would do better in the country. They wind up making a bet -- Dunham will go to a small town, give up his partying ways, go to church, find some sort of work, and marry the daughter of the richest man in the village. Even though it is a joke, Dunham makes good on all of it, and even gets a marriage proposal from the local heiress. But in the end, he discovers that he prefers another girl instead. This film was based on the stage play by Winchell Smith -- John Barrymore played Nat Dunham on Broadway. It was made into a film once before, by the Lubin studios.
