Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Because railroad president Caleb Conover (Conway Tearle) is a scrappy, self-made man, the others at his country club view him with suspicion, especially Blacardo (Arthur Housman). In fact, Blacardo wants him out because of his humble beginnings. But Conover -- as the title implies -- is a fighter, and he refuses to let others keep him down. When his enemies try to slander the dead father of Dey Shevlin, his ward (Winifred Westover), he fights just as furiously for her, and a romance blooms between them. A bill is being put through congress that would ruin his company, but he uncouples an engine on the railroad and makes it to the Capitol while the engine crashes through a burning bridge. He foes believe he has perished in the wreck, so they're shocked when he arrives to vanquish them. While certainly handsome and virile, Conway Tearle still lacked the necessary aggressiveness for this role.
