Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Marie (Pina Menicalli) and Blanche (Blanche Menicalli) have a happy life with their father, a duke, until an actor comes along and seduces Marie. They elope, but after a year the actor deserts her and Marie becomes an actress. Blanche, meanwhile, has become engaged to Baron Lane (L. Devinci), but when he finds out about her sister's dark history, he breaks up with her. Blanche commits suicide, and Marie is bent on revenge. She inspires the Baron to fall in love with her and then proceeds to ruin him financially and emotionally. Finally, she reveals her identity and he shoots himself. But once he has died, she is devastated because she has learned to love him. All is not lost, however, because she becomes reconciled with her father. When the Italian producers of this melodrama lauded this picture as "the greatest screen drama since Alexandre Dumas' Camille," they were overstating their case -- to put it mildly.
