Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Four different perspectives of family life were dramatized in this Canadian miniseries. The first hour-long episode, "The Stranger Was Me," dealt with a youngster in a rural foster home. This was followed by "You and Me," about the rifts in a new marriage; "Forever Amok," focusing on a single father with children from several mothers; and "Straight and Narrow," a generation-gap drama. Created by Ed McGibbon, The Family was shown as part of the CBC's Wednesday-evening lineup from February 17 to March 24, 1971.
