Synopsis by Cara Saposnik

For thousands of years, a small but strong Jewish community existed in Ethiopia. Known as "the Falashas," or "outsiders," they yearned for a chance to leave Africa and move to Israel to join the rest of the Jewish people. In 1973, Meyer Levin was one of the first outsiders to venture into Ethiopia and record the lives of these remarkable people. In this documentary, we get a glimpse of a community that has persevered and survived for so many years.
