Synopsis by Rebecca Flint Marx

Art and sexuality are at the heart of The Experience Box, a dark comedy that explores the ways in which creation and carnality are inextricably linked. Jerome (Florian Sachisthal, who also co-directed) is a painter who beats creative block by engaging in enjoyably random sex, souvenirs of which he keeps in his Experience Box. Jerome's collection inspires his friend, Anna (Lee D'Angelo), an actress who has been jilted by Julian (Reid Green, the film's other director), another friend of Jerome's who has run away on Anna after promising to marry her. Using her own Experience Box, Anna gets revenge on her careless lover, while Jerome reconnects with his ex, Daniel (Ato Essandoh), who is HIV-positive. Their reconciliation understandably jeopardizes Jerome's relationship with Robert (Don Clark Williams), who has been forking over cash to have Jerome perform sex acts in private and public. The Experience Box was screened at the 2002 Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival.
