Directed by Jennifer Abod, this production chronicles the life and social vision of noted feminist Audre Lorde (1934-1992). Largely viewed as one of the most important figures in the development of feminism in the United States, Lorde is responsible for 15 books of poetry and prose, and held the prestigious title of Poet Laureate of New York State for two years. Known as a staunch opponent of any type of social injustice or inequality, Lorde made a name for herself not only within the U.S., but throughout Europe, the Caribbean, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, before passing away after her 14-year battle with breast and liver cancer.
