Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Claude Ditmar (Robert McKim) manages a mill and is your classic power-mad cinematic villain. He lusts after his secretary, Janet Butler (Claire Adams), even though he is already involved with her sister Elsie (Lassie Young). Ditmar sends Elsie away so that he can concentrate on Janet, who repulses his advances. Although Ditmar's partner, Brooks Insall (King Baggot), tries to halt it, a strike at the mill is inevitable. Janet quits her job and works with Insall among the strikers. She makes an attempt on Ditmar's life and is arrested. But Insall gets her out and also rescues Elsie from the squalid quarters where she was sent by Ditmar. Ultimately Ditmar is ousted from his position and Insall -- who has fallen in love with Janet -takes his place. This picture was based on the novel by Winston Churchill, a writer popular in the early twentieth century -- not the English statesman.
