Synopsis by Janiss Garza

When the Llano Kid (Jack Pickford) shoots a man over a dispute at a gambling hall, he is forced to flee across the border. He winds up in South America and meets Thacker (Sidney Ainsworth), the corrupt American consul. To make some easy money, Thacker talks the Kid into posing as the long lost son of a wealthy Castilian family. The parents, Senor and Senora Urique (James Neil and Edythe Chapman), are overjoyed to have their boy back, and the Kid also finds romance with a young girl, Estella (Marie Dunn). It's not Estella's love, however, that compels the Kid to thwart Thacker's scheme, but Senora Urique's maternal devotion. This picture, based on an O. Henry story, has the author's usual twist -- it turns out that the man murdered by the Kid was the Urique son. Although Jack Pickford's talent was never remotely close to that of his superstar sister, Mary Pickford, he was well-suited for this particular role.
