Synopsis by Alice Day

Some of the issues that come up near the end of life are difficult for both patient and doctor to discuss. Sometimes the patient does not wish to face the inevitable, and the physician may find the subjects emotionally disturbing. The DNR Dilemma deals with the "do not resuscitate" option to which patients and their families have recourse. Part one of the program features Dr. Alan Buckner, who must talk about DNR with a patient. In part two, various people associated with a DNR decision, including a doctor, a social worker, a hospital administrator, a nurse, and a lawyer, reveal their feelings about this sensitive topic.
