Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Filmed in Vancouver and designed for the dual American-Canadian TV market, this gritty, hour-long cop series began life as City Lights. Essentially, the program focuses on the interrelationships of five female police detectives, who spend almost as much time fighting with each other as they do battling the forces of crime. The cast includes Bonnie Bedelia as commanding officer Kate McCafferty, former Facts of Life regular Nancy McKeon as Ginny Eckstead, onetime JAG costar Tracey Needham as C.D. Lorenzo, Lela Rochon Fuqua as Magda Ramirez, and Lisa Vidal as Angela Reed. Created by Deborah Joy LeVine of Lois and Clark fame, The Division was seen in the U.S. on the Lifetime cable network beginning January 7, 2001.
