Synopsis by Nicole Gagne

Producer/director Rex Ingram began his productive stay at Metro Pictures with this romantic drama, his final five-reeler. Helen Berry (Alice Lake) lives on the successful farm Shore Acres, which is owned by her father Martin (Frank Brownlee) and his brother Nathaniel (Edward Connelly). The banker Josiah Blake (Joseph Kilgour) longs to take over the farm and persuades Martin to mortgage the property to finance an investment in oil shares. When the oil company folds, Blake demands Helen in payment for his assistance. She runs away with Sam Warren (Robert Walker), Blake's ex-clerk, who loves her. Uncle Nathaniel helps them elope, but the couple are feared dead, lost in a storm at sea -- due to Martin having interfered with Nathaniel's duties attending the lighthouse. But the two are found alive and Blake's iniquities are found out as well.
