Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Rob (Dick Van Dyke) comes across a crumpled network memo ordering his boss Alan Brady (Carl Reiner) to fire one of his writers. Certain that his job is on the chopping block, Rob reluctantly violates the edicts of his contract by looking for an outside writing assignment. His search leads to a bizarre encounter with neurotic ventriloquist Claude Wilbur (Paul Winchell) and an abusive, insulting -- and extremely popular -- hand puppet named Jellybean. And the moral of this episode? "Alan Brady may be many things, but he's certainly not nice!"
