Synopsis by Mark Deming
In this independent drama leavened with a dash of comedy, a group of strangers are killing time at 2:30 a.m. in an all-night diner in New York City. Among the eccentrics on hand are a man who is convinced he's immortal, even if the world isn't; an old man who comes up with songs and dances to accompany the obituary listings; a couple whose relationship is on the verge of collapse; a priest with a drinking problem; and the owner of the diner, who would rather be out on the town instead of serving food to strangers. Suddenly, everyone's problems are forced to take a back seat when it turns out the woman in the worn-out prom dress has a gun, and is willing to use it. Shot in Texas with a cast and crew comprised of talent from the Lone Star state, The Dead End Diner stars Cliff Miller, Dave Williams, Ashley Williams, Wayne Hickman, Shauna Weise, and Jack Sorbi.
