Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Upset that Laura (Mary Tyler Moore) insists upon opening his mail, Rob (Dick Van Dyke) decides to write a comedy sketch about this situation -- names and particulars changed, of course. When the sketch appears on "The Alan Brady Show," the Petries' neighbors the Helpers immediately recognize the "wife" in the routine as a thinly-disguised Laura, an assumption she hotly denies -- and when Rob gets home, he gets in the neck from his outraged spouse. However, Rob gets his revenge in a delightful fashion when a mysterious package arrives at the Petrie doorstep a few days later. Trivia note: though actress Ann Morgan Guilbert (Millie Helper) is obviously very pregnant in this episode, series creator Carl Reiner never capitalized on this fact by writing a "new baby" episode -- and in fact, no explanation was ever offered regarding Guilbert's drastic weight loss the following season!
