Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The Boy Who Loved Horses is a cozy little Danish children's film. Stig Wilner is the boy of the title; the object of his affections is a magnificent white Lippizian stallion. Osvald Helmuth is the adult authority figure who sometimes impedes Stig's efforts to train his beloved horse. Boy Who Loved Horses received only fitful American distribution; the film's flat black-and-white photography imposed an injurious effect on its audience appeal. Its widest circulation came by way of independent UHF TV stations in the early 1970s.
