Synopsis by Erin Demers
A kidnapped African woman becomes enslaved, and endures harsh conditions in South Carolina, eventually making her way to New York City during the Revolutionary War. In her ongoing quest for freedom she spends time hiding in an isolated part of Nova Scotia, and having to survive in the wild of Sierra Leone.
