Synopsis by Perry Seibert
Mike Looney and Sam Donald's documentary The Big Shootout analyzes the football game played between Texas and Arkansas in December of 1969 at a time when they were the two highest-ranked squads in the country. The event became a lightning rod for controversy as President Nixon was in attendance while civil rights protestors made their voices heard because the game featured only white players on both teams.
