Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Gaston de Nerac (Edwin Arden) is young architect with a promising future. When the father of his fiancee, Joanna (Katherine Brown Decker), finds himself in financial trouble, Gaston borrows money from a rival, with one condition -- that Gaston give up Joanna for two years. Joanna, believing that her love has been bartered, marries the rival, while the depressed Gaston leaves the social whirl behind to become a wandering musician named Paragot. He is befriended by a ragged adolescent boy and a pretty little singer, Blanquette (Bliss Milford). Joanna meets up with Paragot once again when he is playing at a peasant's wedding. She tries to bring him back to society, but he realizes he liked being a vagabond better and returns to that life, and to Blanquette. This picture was adapted from the novel by William J. Locke.
