Synopsis by Mark Deming

A journey of unfettered erotic desire takes several passengers into unexpected places in this sensual drama from director Darko Bajic. The Kriemhild is a ship that sets out for a very literal pleasure cruise down the fabled river the Danube. With a fully stocked bar and other stimulants discreetly available, the Kriemhild sets sail with a variety of good-looking passengers who take the opportunity to explore their sexual appetites -- a female literary agent uses her body to attract a handsome and talented client, a husband embraces his bisexuality, a lonely widow allows herself to be seduced, the ship's crew make themselves available to the guests in a wide variety of ways as assignations take place in every unoccupied corner of the ship (as well as a few occupied ones). However, amidst the brazen revelry is one passenger whose attitudes and desires have an ugly edge, and before the Kriemhild arrives in port, he'll take the sexual freedom of the voyage into an unpleasant direction. Na Lepom Plavom Dunavu (aka The Beautiful Blue Danube) received its North American premiere at the 2009 Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, California.
