Synopsis by Nathan Southern

The epic documentary Beatles London etches out a portrait of the most popular band in modern history, the Fab Four, with a particularly strong emphasis on John, Paul, George and Ringo's experiences in 'The Old Smoke.' As hosted by Beatles authority Richard Porter (who established the London Beatles Fan Club and authored the tome Guide to the Beatles' London), the film carries viewers to such city locales as the EMI recording studio, the Abbey Road crosswalk, the group members' individual London homes and the Decca studio where the band received one of its first rejections. At each stop, Porter explains the personal significance of that particular milieu within Beatles history and lore. The full program clocks in at an astonishing four hours; an abbreviated, 90-minute version is available in the release The Concise Beatles London.
