Synopsis by Hal Erickson

From the looks of things, the Falkland Islands have always been a political hot spot. This 1928 British film re-creates two of the most crucial sea battles of World War 1. Craighall Sherry plays Admiral Sturdee, the man who hunts down and sinks the German battleship Von Spee. The production values are just fair, but the patriotic content is overwhelming. In 1932, this film was reissued with a music and sound-effects track under the title The Deeds Men Do.
