Synopsis by Ronnie D. Lankford, Jr.

In the first segment of the program, host Michael Moore visits a number of congressmen to discuss a bill that would allow schools to hang the Ten Commandments. He asks each of them to name a particular commandment -- the eight or third -- and no one can. Throughout the program a number of solutions are offered to solve the problem of homelessness. One homeless man is shipped to Holland, several set up house in a storage locker, and others sleep in recycling containers and the trunks of parked cars. Next, a "Newt Bridal Registry" invites the viewer to purchase a number of items including a piggy bank and "Divorce Law Made E-Z" for the upcoming wedding of Newt Gingrich. Finally, there is a segment on eradicating affirmative action for the wealthy. The Awful Truth argues that since George W. Bush attended good colleges despite mediocre grades, others with better grades were passed over.
