An isolated peach farm is the setting for this nail-biting episode, in which Teresa Wright is cast as Stella, the young wife of bucolic farm owner Emery (Pat Buttram). When Emery hires a sinister-looking farmhand named Jesse (Bruce Dern), Stella is apprehensive -- especially since Jesse seems to have a morbid fascination with knives. Emery, however, refuses to fire Jesse, possibly because he is too frightened to do so. Things come to a head late one night when Jesse attacks Stella, who is unable to summon help because Emery has fallen into a deep sleep -- or has he?
