When Pugsley develops a childhood crush on his teacher Miss Dunbar, Gomez does his best to cheer up the boy by buying him a pneumatic drill. Unfortunately Pugsley already has one, and the lovelorn boy sets off to write his teacher a love letter and quickly realizes that he can't find the right words to express himself. Discovering one of the old letters that his father has penned to his mother, Pugsley copies the prose and sends it to Mrs. Dunbar - who promptly schedules a meeting with Gomez to discuss the matter. Upon speaking with Gomez, Mrs. Dunbar mistakenly gets the impression that it was he is the one who has fallen in love with her and in a bizarre break of character the introverted teacher attacks the unsuspecting father. When Fester spots the pair in a compromising position, he instantly informs Morticia who then confronts Gomez about the incident. Just as Morticia is about to leave Gomez, Principal Jennings arrives at the Addams household in search of Mrs. Dunbar and becomes instantly smitten by her newfound sense of confidence. As a result, Mrs. Dunbar rejects Gomez for the handsome principal and the situation is soon chalked up to a misunderstanding by Morticia and Gomez.
