This sentimental drama -- which was directed by Mae Tully, one of the few women directors of the silent era -- was based on the song by Irving Berlin. Two politicians, Senator Jim Wilton (Maclyn Arbuckle) and Tom Pierce (Tom Brown), have become such bitter rivals that it threatens to tear apart their party. Things come to a head on the eve of the primary election. Wilton gives a speech that angers Pierce and it looks like the two men will come to blows. But then a singer (Brooke Johns) gives voice to the Berlin song, and Wilton and Pierce dissolve into mush as they remember the "old days" -- visions of boyhood adventures and male bonding over the years. The two rivals reconcile and form a united front. They bring their group back into unity so that they are able to forge a real battle against the opposing party.
