Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Stars Arthur Maude and Constance Crawley also collaborated on the direction of the 4-reel Thais. The film is based on the novel by Anatole France, borrowing several elements from the opera inspired by the same material. Crawley stars as Thais, the most beautiful and most wicked woman in her kingdom. Holy man Maude tries to "save" her, only to fall under her spell. Thais' belated repentance comes just as Maude himself heads down the road to perdition. Poorly photographed, Thais hardly constituted a feather in the cap of the fledgling Loftus Film Company.
