Jack (Jack Black) and Kyle (Kyle Gass) have a new neighbor, a would-be writer (Scott Adsit) who doesn't appreciate their noisy ways. Their bizarre pre-show rituals cause the neighbor to bang on the walls and call the police. Attempting to explain themselves to the reporting officer, they tell the tale of a tempting demon from their past. The demon demanded that they play the "best song in the world," and they obliged, saving their souls. The video montage of this story ends at open mic night, where the duo continues their story/performance of "Tribute." The policeman and the writer are at the performance, and the policeman makes it clear that he fully appreciates the power and glory of the D.
