Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Those traumatic years between ages 12 and 20 were vividly captured cinema verite style in this weekly cable-TV series. Produced over a period of two years, the series followed 14 typical teenagers as they struggled to find their place in the world. Topics covered included the requisite psychological and biological changes, the terror of peer pressure, and the onslaught of raging hormones (in one episode, for example, five teen boys discussed their behavior -- good, bad, or otherwise -- in dealing with the opposite sex, an episode complemented by a subsequent discussion with five teen girls). Teen Species was first telecast on August 25, 2002.
