The latest in a long line of setbacks in his acting career befalls poor Bobby (Jeff Conaway). What is especially galling is that the actor who beats Bobby out for the lead in an off-Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet is his new friend Steve (Michael Horton) -- to whom Bobby has been giving acting lessons! Completely frustrated, Bobby vows to give up the theatrical world and remain a cabbie for the rest of his life...or at least that was his plan until Louie (Danny DeVito) opened his big, annoying mouth.
