Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
This experimental film chronicles the lives of a new wave of immigrants living in New York City. From different parts of South Asia, they all drive taxi cabs in their adopted land. The film follows the stories of drivers from Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh. Memories of their distant lands, as well as reflections on their new home, are interspersed with images of New York. The South Asian immigrants talk about their feelings of loneliness and alienation, economic and social hardship, and their hopes and dreams for a better future.
