Synopsis by Mark Deming
Composer John Tavener marked the dawn of the new millennium with this epic-length cantata, which uses music to document the great events of recorded history as reflected in the teachings of Christianity. This recording preserves Fall and Resurrection's debut performance, with Richard Hickox conducting the City of London Sinfonia and BBC Singers, and Michael Chance and Stephen Richardson appearing as guest soloists.
