Synopsis by Donald Guarisco

This was the fifth in a series of seven Turkish films adapted from Tarkan, a popular local comic book reminiscent of Conan the Barbarian. True to its inspiration, Tarkan vs. the Vikings offers up a breathless, pulpy tale of Viking-era adventure. The story begins with Tarkan (Kartal Tibet) being ambushed while guarding the daughter of Attila the Hun. Left for dead, he rebuilds his strength with the help of his faithful wolf Kurt and vows revenge. Thus begins an epic adventure that includes plenty of swordplay, huge battle scenes, and a fight with a giant killer octopus. Like the other Tarkan films, Tarkan vs. the Vikings was popular with Turkish audiences and remains a cult favorite amongst viewers familiar with Turkish popular cinema. In 2005, it was finally given a domestic release by Mondo Macabro on a double-bill DVD with The Deathless Devil.
