Bollywood makes a beeline for the Alps with unexpected results in this comedy from Oliver Paulus. Raja (Vijay Raaz) is a cook with an Indian catering company that's been hired to work on a movie being shot in Switzerland, a musical romance that's typical Bollywood fare except for its setting. While in Switzerland, Raja falls head over heels in love with a local woman, Sonja (Lavinia Wilson), a stereotypically Nordic beauty. Raja decides to follow his dreams and quits his job as the leading lady's personal chef in hopes of winning Sonja's heart. Needing work, Raja is hired by Markus (Martin Schick), the proprietor of a local restaurant who wants to add a more exotic flavor to his menu. Raja takes the job but he's heartbroken to discover that Markus is engaged to marry Sonja, putting his romantic destiny in doubt. Raja's economic future doesn't look especially rosy either when business at the restaurant goes into a slump and it's an open question if they can stay in business. Tandoori Love was an official selection at the 2009 Cinequest Film Festival.
