Synopsis by Mark Deming
Architect Mario Botta and painter Enzo Cucchi shared a dream of building a chapel with elaborate frescoes near the peaks of the Swiss Alps, and Tamaro: Pietre e angeli; Mario Botta e Enzo Cucchi follows them through the planning and hard work that went into making this dream a reality. Dispensing with title cards or narration, director Villi Hermann lets his camera tell the story, as the two men struggle with stone and paint to build their remarkable structure. Tamaro: Pietre e angeli. Mario Botta e Enzo Cucchi was screened as part of the 1999 Seattle Film Festival.
