Synopsis by Hal Erickson
British comic actor Robin Bailey parlayed his lifelong love of the game of cricket into a weekly BBC Radio 4 series, Tales From a Long Room. Cast as "the Brigadier," Bailey offered long-winded but hilarious discourses on his cricketing experiences, both factual and imaginary. The property was revived by the BBC2 TV service on May 22 and 29, 1980, with the Brigadier (Bailey, of course) again expounding on his favorite subject for 15 minutes at a time. Tales From a Long Room was again presented by Robin Bailey, again on British television, in a two-part 1985 series.
