This program takes a closer look at the people of the Cherokee nation and their relationship to the plants in their native forests. Seven plants from among the Cherokee's vast pharmacopoeia are highlighted. Stories are presented which tell about the inherent qualities of each plant and the ways they help the people, from soothing sprains to clearing eyesight. Music of the Cherokee people provides the backdrop for this look at the marriage of a people and their environment.
