Virtuoso Indian percussionist Zakir Hussein and noted bassist/producer/world music advocate Bill Laswell formed the group Tabla Beat Science as a project that would bring together Indian ragas and Western rock, psychedelic, and hip-hop flavors in a new and innovative manner.
