Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

This documentary takes the viewer on a steam powered narrow gauge train ride through the magnificent scenery of Switzerland. The narrow gauged track enables the train to climb the precipitous terrain efficiently. Embarking from Meiringen, the cog railroad climbs over the Bruinig pass and descends into the lake region of the valley floor. There is a stop in the canton of Sarnen to visit the open air parliament there. A trip to the railroad exhibit at the Swiss National Transport Museum rounds out this railroad excursion. The film is in English.
