Synopsis by Janiss Garza

The plot to this flimsy romantic comedy somehow managed to fill out five reels. James Thornton (Frank Mayo), a millionaire bachelor, travels to the country and decides he wants to buy a farm. He falls in love with Jane (Jackie Saunders), the innocent and spirited daughter of farmer Philip Dwight (Edward Jobson). Thornton offers to send Jane away to school on his tab if Dwight consents to their marriage. Dwight agrees and Jane goes off to be educated. While she is away, Mrs. Vanderhoff tries to interest Thornton in her daughter, Elizabeth. But Elizabeth makes it known that she loves Ronald Jones, and eventually Thornton helps the couple to elope. The day comes when Jane returns from school, and she behaves like a grand dame because she thinks that's what Thornton expects of her. Instead, he is sadly disappointed. So she slips on her old calico dress and hides in his car. Thornton finds her there, and, acknowledging that this is the girl he loved in the first place, takes her to the nearest justice of the peace.
