Synopsis by Mark Deming
Economics and gender politics create the backdrop for this black comedy from Puerto Rico. When the manager of a tuna-canning plant in Puerto Rico is found dead in his office, police begin an investigation to determine who is responsible. Officials soon discover there were more than a few people with reason to be angry with the man overseeing the plant -- the cannery was soon to be closed, putting all his employees out of work, while the manager was juggling both a wife and a mistress (and the plant's janitor also had eyes for the boss' other woman). Sudor Amargo stars Domingo Quinones, Sonia Valentin, Alba Nydia Diaz, and Yamaris Latorre.
