When his well-loved dog passes away, Jeff (Skyler Pinkerton) vows to bury his canine companion where he rescued him as a pup, deep in the wilderness. In his grief, Jeff manages to convince his brother, Travis (Tad Davies), to accompany him. Yet what Jeff envisioned as a cathartic backpacking expedition with his brother quickly devolves into a struggle for survival as they cross paths with an unusual stranger who tasks them with a high-stakes mission fraught with risk.
