Advanced Pilates students may want to try out this exercise video designed by Moira Stott. As many viewers already know, Stott first danced professionally with the City Ballet of Toronto and England's Ballet Rambert before deciding to study J.H. Pilates' basic exercise techniques and workout philosophy. After becoming certified in this form of training, Stott and her husband opened their first Stott Pilates Studio. In this video, Stott provides instruction in the proper breathing and body alignment required for the mat exercises. Those who have already worked with Stott's Essential Matwork and Intermediate Matwork will recognize many of the introductory routines that are incorporated into these more advanced movements requiring considerable abdominal muscle strength. Students are encouraged to practice until these routines flow into one another without noticeable transitions. Viewers will see that the Stott approach to Pilates exercises emphasizes building strength and endurance.
