Synopsis by Cammila Collar

In this documentary by Argentinean filmmaker Marco Martinez, actor Julio Arreta profiles the shanty town he lives in and takes viewers on a poignant and often funny journey as he attempts to find work for all of his community's citizens as actors. Arreta uses his neighbors' poor circumstances as selling points to casting directors, getting the townsfolk cast as beggars and thieves based on their appearances. The movie explores many perspectives on Arreta's unorthodox strategy, including that of some professional actors who don't agree with the casting of amateurs, but by and large, the film is about Arreta's humorous and admirable take on employing 600 people.
