Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The British game show Star Quality was a combination talent contest and "trivial pursuit" affair. The contestants were governed by a roll of the dice, which moved them around a huge game board to either a "Question" or an "Audition" square. If the contestant hit "Question," he or she was required to answer a show biz-trivia question; if the contestant landed on "Audition," said contestant was obliged to perform a song, dance, or comedy bit, the merits of which were determined by a jury of his "peers." Finalists were ordered to perform an additional 24-second "turn" in front of the same jury. Hosted by Gyles Brandreth, Star Quality first aired over HTV in 1988.
