Produced by film pioneer David Horsley, this series of seven self-contained episodes depicted a highly fictionalized account of the Anglo-American journalist Sir Henry Morton Stanley's famous search in Darkest Africa for the presumed missing Dr. David Livingstone. Roy Watson, who had played the Rajah in the serial The Adventures of Kathlyn (1913), portrayed Stanley with the appropriate dash, and Princess Mona Darkfeather) was the inevitable, albeit non-historical love interest. The human actors were upstaged by Jack Bonavita's famous Bostic Animals, however.
