Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Sexy nightclub dancer Effie Shannon is known as "The Sphinx" because of her refusal to speak to any of her co-workers -- or to her many male admirers. One of her most ardent suitors is wealthy young Charles Compton, whose adoration for The Sphinx causes a rift in his relationship with his father Herbert Kelcey. Hoping to disillusion his son, Kelcey begins to romance the Sphinx himself. The plan works, and Compton returns to his fiancee Louise Huff. But things also work out well for Kelcey, who discovers to his delight that the not-so-wicked Sphinx is genuinely in love with him.
