Inspired by the passion of two youthful Navy officers who joined the armed forces to pursue their childhood dreams of becoming naval aviators, filmmaker Peyton Wilson follows the ambitious pair on their two and a half year journey towards wartime deployment to Iraq. From the time Jay and Meagen were just young children, they knew it was their destiny to soar through the clouds. Now, after joining the U.S. Navy, they finally have the opportunity to pilot the f-14 Tomcat. Over the course of the next thirty months, Jay and Meagen will face the biggest challenges of their lives as they engage in dogfights over the Nevada desert and practice night landings on aircraft carriers off the Atlantic coast. Later, upon facing the true horrors of war, both pilots find their childhood dreams giving way to an intense struggle for survival.
